Finch started playing softball as early as age 5. The father of her daughter Doug was her pitching coach. Jennie, who was only 10 when she started, was the first to utilize the Finch Windmill a hand conditioning device invented by Doug. In high-school, she pitched six no-hitters, as well as 13 perfect games. After graduation, she attended an undergraduate program at the University of Arizona and was awarded a triple-time All American pitcher as also a first baseman.
